Course Description:

In this course, students will dive into the captivating world of non-fiction texts. They will have the opportunity to read and analyze a variety of engaging informational materials, such as articles, biographies, news reports, and more. Through the practice of close reading and lively discussions, students will enhance their comprehension skills by focusing on essential elements like identifying main ideas, making insightful inferences, and examining the distinct features that characterize non-fiction writing. This immersive exploration will enable students to navigate through a diverse range of non-fiction texts, developing valuable skills for critical thinking and gaining a deeper understanding of real-world information. By delving into the realm of non-fiction, students will embark on an exciting journey of discovery, expanding their knowledge and broadening their horizons in an accessible and engaging way suitable for students in grades 5-6.
