Speaking, listening, reading, and writing
Designed to assist learners by actively participating in communicative language activities with a focus on interaction in Japanese. Available to learners from zero to elementary level.
Classroom activities follow a sequence where learners clearly understand the goal of each lesson and share their motivation to learn the new words and expressions. They proceed to engage in speaking, reading, and writing practice (depending on the level and the topic).
The learning objectives regarding Japanese characters include the ability to read 65 words in Kanji and the proficiency to read and write all words in both Hiragana and Katakana.
In 20 lessons, you will be able to learn hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji characters. The main purpose of this course is to master survival level Japanese phrases for daily life in Japan, including self-introduction, giving directions to a taxi driver, ordering food, asking about the menu, shopping, booking clinics and restaurants, etc.
In 20 lessons, you will be able to read and write 37 kanji characters. The main purpose of this course is to be able to talk about more things in detail using basic Japanese phrases and communicate with Japanese people in various settings, such as shopping, at a restaurant, a salon and so on.
Designed to enable learners to actively participate in communicative language activities, with 53 and 49 Can-do objectives respectively, with a focus on interactive communication in Japanese.
Our students build on foundational grammar, have slightly longer conversations, and extend speaking opportunities (such as mini-presentations and speeches at events). The goal is to read 100% of both katakana and hiragana and 65 kanji by the course's conclusion.
We encourage the exploration of cultural differences through the analysis of words. Learners are prompted to consider not only what should be said in various situations, but also delve into the reasons behind the statements, the speaker's intention, and the listener's response.

The course’s objective is to revisit and implement the concepts learned in Survival Japanese in order to advance to the Elementary level. We equip learners for the next stage of their language proficiency. The initial focus during each topic is engaging in Japanese interactions, with learners listening to and participating in various conversations.
The latter part of each topic emphasizes reading activities. Key learning points are derived from the reading texts and then reinforced through practice. Subsequently, when learners read another text with a similar theme, they further consolidate their understanding.
This course aims to elevate learners to the status of Independent Language Users, enabling them to engage in coherent Japanese conversations, comprehend texts on familiar topics, and navigate various situations independently in Japan.
Topics are divided into five skill-based sections, including listening, conversation, extended speaking, reading, and writing; each features specific Can-Do Objectives. Instructors have the flexibility to adapt the course book to address the diverse learning contexts and needs at the intermediate level.
To facilitate real-world Japanese communication, the Intermediate level emphasizes the cultivation of skills through materials that closely mimic authentic situations. This approach ensures that learners not only gain proficiency, but also become adept at navigating genuine language use.
