Toranomon Language School\u2019s<\/a> \u201cWalk and Learn<\/b>\u201d continued today (July 12th) at the TV Asahi in Roppongi<\/a>.<\/a><\/p><\/div>

We took five of our students on an interactive field trip today at this 8-story office and TV studio here in Tokyo.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

To get to our destination, we took the train! This allows kids to navigate the city and teaches them about real-world experiences<\/b>. They walked to the station and even purchased their own tickets.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The kids got to take pictures with Doraemon<\/b>, one of the most popular characters among children in Japan. It is a well-known Japanese manga series. Manga is a graphic novel\/comic that is big in Japanese culture and the kids got to see real-life versions of this! They also learned how his helpful \u201ctools\u201d help in their lives in Japanese.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On the first floor of the building the kids were able see see merchandise of shows and animations that are popular abroad and not just Japan. There are around 2,000 different unique items and special edition goods here that make for excellent souvenirs that the kids had a chance to shop and look at and learn the stories behind each characters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Each of our \u201cWalk and Learns\u201d builds the kids confidence and independence as we allow them to shop on their own and explore carefully on their own in groups.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The TV studio provided knowledge of Japanese pop culture and architecture. The building was designed by Fumihiko Maki who was a famous Japanese architect and designed many other significant building\u2019s in Tokyo. The garden remains the same as it was when it was owned by Mouri centuries ago.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After the field trip the kids went to a local restaurant for pizza where they got to enjoy a nice meal. They learned the etiquette on public transportation, were very polite, and helped each other on the train.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

These \u201cWalk and Learns\u201d are offered through our Summer courses <\/a>where classes are held Monday-Thursday from 9:30-12:30 with the \u201cWalk and Learn\u201d field trips on Fridays.<\/u><\/p>\n
